Remodeling your kitchen provides the opportunity to make it exactly how you want. However, you may not know what you want because you simply have not seen it before. Here are some kitchen cabinet renovations you may not have thought of.

1. Vertical Doors

One type of door that is a bit different is a vertical door. These can be great for very wide cabinets, above prep areas, or would require a door to open up against a wall. The hinge allows the door to pop up like the trunk of a car, so you have full access to the entire cabinet. The nice thing about a vertical door is that it eliminates the board in the middle where two normal cabinet doors usually come together. This can even allow you to fit wider things into a cabinet that normally wouldn't fit that easily.

2. Magic Corner Drawer

Ever wonder how to handle those corner cabinets that have a deep storage area that is difficult to access? Some people put in a revolving corner cabinet, but that still wastes plenty of space that could be used for storage. Instead, you can install a magic corner drawer. A magic corner drawer is unique because one set of drawers will fully pull out from the cabinet. Then you shift the drawer over, and another full set of drawers can be further pulled out to reveal additional storage. It allows full use of the corner cabinet so no space is wasted.

3. Knife Block Drawer Insert

Tired of having a knife block that takes up a ton of room on your counters? You can replace this with a drawer that has a knife block insert. The knives will lay down horizontally instead of vertically, but with separations that protect the blade and make them easily accessible. This can be a great way to hide something that is typically a staple of every kitchen.

4. Sliding Spice Rack

Another part of your kitchen counters that can be hidden away is the spice rack. Consider having the spice rack hidden away in a sliding drawer so that you do not have to look at it on your counters. The nice thing about a sliding spice rack is that the drawer can be very tall and thin, making it the perfect way to fill in those small spaces that would otherwise go to waste in your kitchen.
